Lionsgate Home Entertainment announced it will release Danielle Harris’ directorial debut, Among Friends on DVD August 27th.
Good times take a dark turn when longtime friends get together for an ’80s-themed murder mystery party that is soon hijacked by someone from their past. The dinner guests will have to face their lies and secret betrayals as they discover the terrifying lengths to which their host will go to expose the truth.
The disc will feature a commentary with Harris, AJ Bown and Jennifer Blanc.

If you live in Hollywood, it’s your lucky day weekend. Among Friends is having a back to back screening this Saturday and Sunday. You can catch Among Friends at 3:30pm this Saturday at the Viscera Film Festival at the Egyptian Theater. Also check it out at 6:00pm at PopCon LA with a signing and Q&A after! Danielle Harris is finding some success with her directorial effort, Among Friends.
The scream queen, known for her turns in the Halloween franchise, got behind the camera for the thriller last fall. Today, it was announced Aspect Film has taken the worldwise sales rights which means the hunt for a distributor has begun.
Penned by Alyssa Lobit, Among Friends is a horror (and comedy, depending on how twisted you are) about a dinner party gone wrong. Set against an 80s backdrop, good times take a dark turn when one in the group hijacks the evening in the name of Integrity. Through an attempt to help the others come clean about secret betrayals against one another, it’s revealed who’s willing to cut through the bone to expose the truth.
The film stars Christopher Backus, Jennifer Blanc, AJ Bowen, Dana Daurey, Brianne Davis, Kane Hodder, Kamala Jones, Alyssa Lobit and Chris Meyer. We’ll keep you posted when this finds U.S. distribution.

Los Angeles – Scream Queen Danielle Harris steps behind the camera to direct her first full-length feature film, Among Friends. The screenplay was written by and stars Alyssa Lobit. Lobit also wrote and played the lead character in the award winning film The Things We Carry.
Chris Backus, Jennifer Blanc Biehn, AJ Bowen, Brianne Davis, Dana Daurey, Danielle Harris, Kamala Jones, Alyssa Lobit, Chris Meyer and Tanya Newbould have all signed on to star in the picture.
Long time friends Danielle Harris and Jennifer Blanc Biehn recently worked together in Michael’s Biehn’s The Victim, a Grindhouse inspired movie due out later this year.
The project is financed by production companies Three Little Birds and Hollywood Treasures Inc. Jay Lobit and Bill Allison are executive producers for Among Friends.
